7 years of experience as a data engineer in consumer finance or similar fields (e.g., consumer loans, collections, servicing).
Advanced knowledge of at least one programming language: Java, Scala, Python, or C#.
Production experience with technologies including:
HDFS
YARN
Hive
Spark
Kafka
Oozie/Airflow
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Docker/Kubernetes
Snowflake
Proficiency in data mining/programming tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, Python).
Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake, Greenplum).
Strong expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, MicroStrategy).
Comfortable with learning and deploying new technologies and tools.
Responsibilities
Create and manage cloud resources in AWS.
Implement data ingestion from various sources, using technologies such as RDBMS, REST HTTP API, flat files, streams, and time series data from proprietary systems.
Carry out data processing and transformation using technologies like Spark and Cloud Services.
Develop automated data quality checks to ensure that accurate data is integrated into the platform and verify the results of calculations.
Additional Qualifications
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of presenting results to non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with business intelligence and analytical tools, technologies, and techniques is advantageous.
