Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for a leading full service global logistics provider for hotel brands, military, and government organizations. Our client not only moves freight but more importantly creates a competitive advantage for their clients through customization of solutions specific to project requirements.

The Director of Customs Brokerage will be responsible for the strategy and development of the organization’s customs brokerage operations in the US. This key position will create processes and drive and implement continuous improvement methodologies to maintain a high level of customs brokerage product productivity and quality. The candidate selected for this role will be the license holder for the organization and will be challenged with building a team, monitoring, and advising on regulatory compliance and providing world class customer service.

Background Required:

• International freight forwarding or customs brokerage (3 years)
• Customs brokerage license
• Knowledge of INCO terms, harmonized tariff schedule, customs regulations
• Knowledge of overall US markets (rail, ports & domestic transportation carriers)
• Strong classification & regulatory skills
• Customs brokerage training & program development
• Experience working across global network of offices and agents
• Established standard operating procedures & metrics
• Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
• Residence: Charlotte, NC
