Global Fund for Women is Hiring a Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships Near San Francisco, CA

The Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships leads Global Fund for Women’s strategy, development, and execution of a robust institutional partnerships program, including private foundations and corporate giving. Reporting to the VP of Development, the Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships will identify, champion, and drive new strategic partnerships to build new revenue streams, lead strategy for the institutional giving program, and directly manage the Institutional Partnerships team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and lead the strategic vision for institutional partnership; work to diversify and accelerate revenue streams related to private foundations and corporations.
  • Establish strategic institutional partnership goals and drive successful achievement of these goals.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for institutional partners, cultivating and building authentic relationships for deepened partnerships.
  • Identify key funding to support programs and cross-departmental needs with the development of compelling proposals, strong partnerships, and other development-related initiatives.
  • Lead and directly supervise Institutional Partnership team members, setting and measuring challenging objectives, providing feedback, and mentoring to deliver their best performance.
  • Direct grant proposal and report development and writing with an emphasis on telling the right stories to best leverage the work of the organization.
  • Oversee the work across departments to ensure effective grants management, including tracking, analysis and reporting.
  • Administer and hold primary responsibility for the team’s budget.
  • Serve as a Development Leadership Team member to envision continued growth for the department, build on long-term strategy, and optimize employee engagement.
  • Consistently stay on top of institutional giving trends and ensure that GFW shows up to important spaces to build partnerships and cultivate new ones. 
  • Ground fundraising and donor education in intersectionality, equity, and social justice to increase trust with new audiences.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned towards meeting team and organizational goals.

KEY SKILLS / WAYS OF DOING

  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience in non-profit fundraisingand at least 5 years of institutional partnership team leadership.
  • Strong experience in strategic planning and project management. 
  • Expertise in telling the right stories to leverage the work of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: can articulate complex themes for multiple audiences/settings (different types of source and movement partners, as well as peer organizations); able to present complex ideas and programs in a pragmatic, compelling manner.
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to support, mentor, and hold the team accountable for clearly established goals.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Understand and embrace feminist, community-centric funding/fundraising principles.
  • Strong organization, decision-making, and delegation skills.
  • Comfortable working in multi-cultural climates.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with the enthusiasm and energy to implement new strategies and meet ambitious goals.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally.

Salary Range of $132,000 - $205,000*

*This range is reflective of our high-market geo and will vary based on the candidate’s city and state of residence.
