Global Process Automation is Hiring a Panel Shop Foreman Near Ruston, LA

Panel Shop Foreman 

Description:

As a Panel Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for industrial control panel development and support. This role involves working with various cross-functional teams to provide development and support of complete control panel projects. As a panel shop foreman, you will oversee work in the panel shop, wire customized industrial control panels, ensure project work meets quality standards, and complete project work within project hours and deadlines. 

The Panel Shop Foreman is responsible for working with the panel shop team, clients and vendors to implement project tasks with the established scope of work in alignment with project goals and objectives under the supervision of project leads or managers. This role requires industrial specific technical knowledge and programming best practices. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the work of the panel shop team, including panel builders, technicians, and other personnel.

  • Maintain a strong foundation in electrical systems, panel design principles, and relevant industry standards.

  • Project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to manage multiple projects.

  • Train and mentor panel shop personnel.

  • Manage inventory of electrical components, tools, and materials needed for panel assembly.

  • Maintain accurate documentation including drawing markups, UL508A requirements, quality control, and safety records.

  • Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment for the panel shop team.

  • Cultivate an environment that prioritizes people, emphasizing community, teamwork, and productivity to uphold the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of GPA.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7  years of experience in reading electrical schematics and wiring industrial control panels.

  • Basic computer skills, including email.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Prefer an associate degree in Automation Systems or related field.

  • The work environment is light industrial, with exposure to a moderate level of noise. 

  • Daily operations in a work environment includes the use of basic power tools, hand tools, and repetitive hand motion in manipulating electrical wires. 

  • Sitting, standing, and bending at waist for up to 3 consecutive hours at time. May need to reach above shoulder height for extended periods of time. 

  • May be exposed to fumes and airborne particles. 

  • Must be able to climb stairs. 

  • Must be able to move freely between aisles of parts, equipment, shelving units. 

  • Must be able to carry or lift at least 40 pounds.
