Mental Health Case Manager- (Location: King County)
NO TELESERVICE; MUST COMMUTE DAILY
Compensation: $60,000-70,000; Competitive vacation and sick leave, wonderful work environment. Plenty of training provided. Must have BA in one of the social service fields, Masters candidate preferred with mandatory two years mental health experience; Stipend toward monthly Medical and dental provided.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
This is a mental health case-manager who provides community resources and support for clients within various program areas in Western Washington. An employee in this position will be responsible for assisting clients in accessing a variety of services. Work will include bi- weekly visits to clients, in-depth transitional assessment of individual and family needs, The treatment team will develop individualized plans of action. The idea candidate will provide positive support and referral services and will develop an extensive network of professionals in the social services arena. The mental health case manager must pass a criminal background check and have reliable transportation. The case manager will be proficient in writing case notes and monthly reports. Exceptional customer service is a necessity as well as complete confidentiality. This case manager will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement, a noncompeting agreement, and a criminal background check prior to beginning employment.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Work is performed under general supervision with the employee expected to plan and assign work independently after objectives, priorities and deadlines have been defined. Work is reviewed in progress and upon completion by the administrative supervisor for thoroughness, timeliness and compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures. This position does not supervise.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the position. The mental health case manager works in an office environment and/or in the field on a regular basis. Due to the nature of the work, the incumbent may be exposed to situations of a highly emotional nature; incumbents are expected to use verbal skills to independently resolve interpersonal situations to achieve desired results. Incumbents are exposed to various living situations and lifestyles while visiting worksites.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions. Physical activities required are finger dexterity necessary to operate equipment used in the position, talking, seeing, and hearing. Walking, sitting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling and minimal unassisted lifting associated with the job duties is required. May be required to lift to 25 pounds. Lifting requirements vary depending on job assignment. Incumbents may be required to climb stairs and/or ramps when accessing worksites. Travel to various work sites throughout the area is required; public transportation may not be available to all locations required. Reliable transportation is a necessity.

Community resources in the social service field.
Effective counseling, problem-solving, communication and listening techniques.
Specific program rules and regulations, procedures and guidelines.
Principles and practices of early intervention services; and applicable federal state and local laws, rules, regulations and policies and procedures.
Writing case notes and weekly reports is required.
Two years direct mental health experience required.
