Overview:
As a Safety Coordinator at Global Roofing Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors. You will be responsible for implementing and reinforcing safety policies and procedures to mitigate workplace hazards and promote a culture of safety excellence through coaching and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards, including OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and all other applicable requirements.
2. Policy Development: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, and programs specific to the commercial roofing industry.
3. Training and Education: Coordinate safety training classes and programs for employees and contractors, including new hire orientation, ongoing training, and certification programs.
4. Risk Assessment: Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards, implement corrective actions as needed, and submit inspection reports through the company application
5. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents, near misses, and safety incidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
6. Safety Communication: Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other communication channels to promote awareness and understanding of safety-related issues and initiatives. Lead safety discussions on the jobsite and in the office.
7. Safety Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety-related data, including incident reports, training records, and safety performance metrics.
8. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures to address potential emergencies such as falls from heights, fires, severe weather, and chemical spills.
9. Safety Culture: Promote a positive safety culture by fostering employee engagement, recognition, and participation in safety-related activities and initiatives.
10. Safety Documentation: Proficiency in writing Site Specific Safety Plans, AHA’s, toolbox talks, stand-downs, accident/incident reports, and corrective action plans
Qualifications:
OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification (minimum required)
Position requires a reliable vehicle for travel to project sites
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or similar professional certification (preferred).
OSHA 510 Construction certification (preferred)
Proven experience in safety coordination and safety training, preferably in the construction or roofing industry.
Strong knowledge of incident investigation and root cause analysis
Strong knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and best practices, particularly in the areas of fall protection, rigging, hazard communication, and heavy equipment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
Compensation:
$26 to $32/hour DOE
