Job Title: Quality Assurance Supervisor
Primary Accountabilities:
The primary purpose of the Quality Assurance Supervisor is to lead and optimize the efforts of the
Quality department around Company’s stated priorities of Safety, People, Quality, Customer Service and Cost Management.
Accountabilities:
• Foster and maintain a safe work environment by setting expectations for safe behavior.
• Build and foster positive employee morale.
• Maintain an unwavering commitment to quality, meeting or exceeding quality goals and
objectives.
• Ensure superior customer service internally and externally.
• Effectively manage costs within QA department (labor, concentrate, CO2, ingredients, etc.).
• Ensure proper training of new hires and ongoing training of current employees.
• Lead, develop and mentor the QA team to achieve a high performance in a team-oriented
environment.
• Complete other assigned tasks as needed
Qualifications:
• Should have knowledge of Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
• Should have lab experience and understanding of a laboratory environment. Should have
experience dealing with equipment used in the lab.
• Should have 5 to 7 years of experience in QA management or leadership role.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (includes some weekend/holiday responsibilities)
• Must have excellent PC skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel is required.
• Should understand/troubleshoot water treatment systems.
• Excellent prioritizing, organizing & decision-making skills required.
• Dynamic communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management
& personnel.
• College Degree is strongly preferred. Emphasis in Biology, chemistry, or food science is
required.
• An excellent safety record.
Accountabilities and Expectations Quality Assurance Supervisor
• Must have an excellent quality record & experience in managing quality control.
• Must be self-motivated, positive, have a high degree of integrity, dependability & participate as
a team member to achieve common goals with sense of urgency.
• Should have strong math and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience with sanitation procedures.
• Should have general knowledge in basic Chemistry and Biology with emphasis of experience
with alkaline and acidic chemicals;
Key Position Competencies
• Organizational Skills: needs to understand Quality Assurance operations and processes
thoroughly and coordinate all QA activities based upon operational priorities.
• Communication Skills: ability to communicate effectively with all team personnel: Quality
Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, Supervisor, and Shift Manager (written and verbal)
• Operational Knowledge: thorough knowledge of all aspects of the line processes and good
knowledge of basic manufacturing operational theory and practice.
• Excellent Mathematic Competence: to understand and be able to communicate performance
information to team members and Supervisor/Manager. (Safety, Quality Index, Customer
Complaints, Cost Management, etc.)
• Understanding of safety principles and enforce safety standards
• Understanding of GMP, HACCP, Safe Quality Food Principles, Food Defense Principles, and
Management Systems.
• Understand and apply standard operating procedures.
• Understand and troubleshoot issues.
• Understand theory of operation of syrup and product processing equipment.
• Understand, speak, read and write English.
• Computer literate.
• Extensive experience in a high-speed environment.
