Type of hire: Contract, long-term with ongoing potential.
Shift: 1st (Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm)
Travel: No
OT Expected: 5 hours average per week
Key Responsibilities :
- A hands-on laboratory based position that utilizes equipment, software and hardware to setup and run tests that evaluate and/or validate seating mechanisms. This position ensures that these tests are conducted safely, efficiently, correctly, and in accordance with published and/or provided specifications and requirements.
- Determine seat H-Points by executing existing test procedures using SAE J826 mannikins.
- Scan seat surfaces to create 3D Models using Faro arms / laser scanners.
- Produce pressure maps of seat cushions and backs using Xsensor pressure mats.
- Take head rest dimensional measurements per applicable regulations.
- Perform a variety of safety checks and or functional checks on seat test samples.
- Conduct post-test data processing and interpretation of results.
- Completion of any necessary testing documentation which may include calibration sheets, data sheets, test reports, video files, still photos.
- Maintains safe, secure, and clean workplace by following 5S standards.
- Conduct equipment maintenance and/or repair as applicable.
- Maintain calibration records for lab equipment and instrumentation.
- Review calibration records supplied by outside calibration laboratory for lab equipment and instrumentation to ensure accuracy.
- Use Global Lab Information System (gLIMs) for test data and information. Support test report process by uploading files, loading test data and information, provide test summary and observations.
- Attend department meetings as required.
- Interface with test engineers and customers as required.
- Support test method development and/or continuous improvement projects as required.
- Handle material movement as required (i.e. fixtures, pallets, and test samples).
- 3 years of automotive test lab experience (equipment, methods, and instruments)
- Associates degree / Technical Degree / Vocational Training / Related work experience
- Experience measuring H-Points.
- Laser scanning using Faro arms/scanners.
- Pressure mapping using Xsensor pressure mats.
- .Automotive seating experience would be optimal.

REFERRAL BONUS PROGRAM:
If you are able to refer a person we do hire, we can offer up to $250 for contractors after they are on the job for 90 days and up to $500 for direct hires after they are on the job between 90 days to 180 days, depending on customer payment terms.
