Summary of Role:
Manufacturing Engineers manage day to day operations in a highly automated Wafer Fab facility. These positions are on a compressed work shift: 12-hour days, 3 days working/4 days off; 4 days working/3 days off. Individuals must be willing to work any shift.
Essential Responsibilities include:
Coordinate capacity, manage cycle time, and facilitate and lead work teams in a 300mm Factory
Drive cycle time reduction through prompt hold lot release and high inventory step management
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs
Use standard software applications as well as specific GlobalFoundries Programs
Meet MFG output goals, while ensuring product quality
Optimize and maximize tool utilization through manual execution and oversight
Meet certification/training, attendance, and yearly review requirements
Manage static and dynamic bottlenecks daily through run plan development, part communication/execution, and gap analysis
Schedule and set-up manufacturing tools for preventive maintenance
Track and identifybottleneck tools based on WIP Profile and WIP Profile by Route
Real Time Dispatch troubleshooting: Know what is preventing a lot from loading and how to resolve
Coordinate with equipment and process engineering to review daily goals, priorities, project statuses, budgets, and qualification timelines
Track critical qualification lots for new tool starts up
Create and update qualification lot trackers for critical tools and process changes
Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost
Optimize and maximize tool utilization through automation and inventory planning systems
Lead change through education, effective communication, and motivation
Delegate assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies
Be POC in gaps of management coverage
Be able to escalate accordingly to keep management team aligned on critical issues
Crisis management updates
Fill in critical tracking sheets and assign priority (FAC event/ warmdown / IT)
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:
Education – Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or other major with significant technical/operations
Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.
Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior related internship or co-op experience.
Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning & organizational skills
Able to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of production information
Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness
Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, other duties as assigned; able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities
Proficiency with software applications: Microsoft 365

Expected Salary Range
$52,500.00 - $107,000.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
