Overview :

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to fill the role of International Logistics Coordinator, supporting our expanding Freight Division.

The Coordinator will be responsible for managing the global supply chain and logistics operations of the company. This role involves coordinating shipments, ensuring compliance with international regulations, optimizing transportation processes, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in US Government Contracting, OCONUS operations, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Key responsibilities :

• Plan, organize, and oversee the entire lifecycle of international shipments from origin to destination.
• Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Ensure all international shipments comply with customs regulations, trade laws, and import / export requirements.
• Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline logistics processes and reduce costs.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of carriers and third-party logistics providers.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with transportation providers, customs brokers, and regulatory agencies.
• Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers and logistics service providers.
• Assist with the development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures.
• Generate and analyze reports on shipment status, logistics costs, and performance metrics.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field OR 5-10 years practical experience in the field
• Familiarity with freight management software system, such as Cargowise or equivalent
• Strong understanding of international trade regulations, duty-exempt shipping processes, customs procedures, and import / export compliance.
• Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
• Understanding of handling of HAZMAT and Dangerous Goods
• Prior experience supporting defense contractors, aid & development organizations, government agencies, and commercial clients.

Experience in high-risk and conflict zones preferred, but not required.
