Safety & Training Sr. Specialist

Join our dynamic startup team as a Safety & Training Sr. Specialist at GLOVIS EV Logistics America LLC. This vital role involves assisting the daily operations of the Safety and Training department by administering all safety and training policies, procedures and programs to ensure profitable performance and growth of the organization. This individual will be instrumental in new hire onboarding and training activities while ensuring the organization remains in compliance with all safety regulations and supporting corporate goals for Zero Incidents. This position is onsite, with hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, including a one-hour lunch break.

Department: Vehicle Processing Center (VPC)

Reports to: Planning Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the implementation, communication, and adherence to company training standards.
• Assist with preparing and developing required training materials.
• Conduct safety orientation for visitors, contractors, new staffing and full-time employees.
• Coordinate with department supervisors and managers on training schedules.
• Coordinate and conduct driver training for new employees as needed.
• Assists in preparing training and safety programs that capture all required elements of DOT, OSHA, AAR, etc. as required.
• Track employee training attendance and maintain training records for employees.
• Participates in accident, injury, and near miss documentation with suggested countermeasures.
• Participates and conducts safety audits as scheduled to maintain compliance.
• Provide documentation on findings including unsafe practices for review, investigate employee concerns also.
• Works with security to provide badges and documenting active and inactive badges as needed.
• Obey and support all OSHA, FRA, AAR, Hyundai Glovis transportation guidelines and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred (Architecture, Construction-related, Occupational Health and Safety) or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Minimum 3 years of occupational safety experience preferred.
• Previous automotive or industrial experience preferred with safety and organizational training background. Ability to interpret and follow instructions and apply as instructed.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA 30 and OSHA 100. OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 100 certification is a plus.
• Current First Aid/CPR First Responder Training desired.
• Familiarity with machinery and equipment used in maintenance, warehousing, and on construction sites.
• Experience in risk management, personnel protective equipment, construction safety, injury and incident investigation, reporting, auditing, and training for construction operations.
• Proficient in PC use, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and be flexible with on-call and off-shift hours as needed.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including a laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. May require the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and transport items. The estimated base salary range for the Safety & Training Sr. Specialist is $69,400-$73,400.  The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
