Summary:

The Associate/Senior Associate (title determined at hire, based on experience) will work closely with the Head of US Debt Capital Markets and the broader Asset Management team, partnering with Investments, Fund Management, Operations, and Finance on a broad spectrum of financing activity, including property-level single-asset and portfolio financings and fund-level financing facilities, managing and growing lending relationships, designing and executing rate hedging strategies, and optimizing internal processes associated therewith.

Responsibilities

• Assessing near- and medium-term financing activities and objectives
• Structuring, marketing, negotiating and closing financing transactions
• Synthesizing financing quotes and providing recommendations
• Analyzing property underwriting from lenders’ perspective (in Excel and Argus as required)
• Overseeing the calculation and reporting of loan-related quantitative and qualitative covenants
• Monitoring trends in the financing markets and providing updates to other teams as needed
• Developing the firm’s network of financing relationships (lenders, brokers, other counterparties)
• Assisting with ad-hoc projects relating to fundraising and growth strategies
• Implementing and monitoring interest rate hedges
• Actively managing loans, including making draw requests, managing maturities, and preparing materials for other loan milestones

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in related field)
• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in banking, advisory, structuring capacity
• Proficiency in Excel, Argus, PowerPoint, Word
• Ability to learn quickly and solve problems creatively
• Excellent communication (oral and written)
• Selfless, energetic, discreet, ethical, empathetic
• Willingness and ability to travel (occasionally as needed)
