We are looking for a Calibration Tech/Tool Crib Assistant to join our Quality Control team.

Summary:

Calibration Technician/Tool Crib Assistant maintains, tests and repairs a variety of instrumentation and equipment. The primary responsibility is to make sure that instruments, gauges, and testing devices are calibrated correctly and give accurate readings. Works in the Manufacturing Support Area and backs up Tool Crib duties as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions below:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the calibration recall system and coordinate with functional groups for timely return of equipment for calibration.

  • Ensure that the calibration lab equipment and calibration procedures are adequate to process test equipment.

  • Maintain paper and electronic records to verify calibration actions and traceability.

  • Identify overdue and out-of-tolerance equipment.

  • Determine requirements for contract calibration suppliers and initiate requests/purchase orders and shippers to obtain outside calibration support.

  • Monitor contract calibration system to ensure compliance to calibration standards are met.

  • Perform repairs or contracts repair of test equipment as required.

  • Prioritize equipment calibration based on product processing requirements.

  • Document calibration process.

  • Develop all reports and certificates pertaining to calibration.

  • Prepare all documentation applicable for various assignments.

  • Perform calibration of and approve products and accessories that meet tolerances and product specifications.

  • Manage workload to achieve production schedules and ensure completion within timeframe.

  • Grind, sharpen and set the various tools required for use on the CNC. machines.

  • Maintain tooling in optimal operational conditions.

  • Order tools as requested to maintain operational execution.

  • Restock new and used tooling and fixturing in its proper inventoried locations.

  • Issue tools to Machinists and maintains records.

  • Keep area clean and organized in accordance with industry standard 5S guidelines.

Required Competencies:

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Ability to set up and operate standard and special purposes test equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret standards and specifications.

  • Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).

  • Detailed knowledge of tooling for CNC machines.

  • Knowledge of tool setting equipment.

  • Knowledge of heat shrink equipment.

  • Organized and punctual.

  • Proficient in MS Office.

  • The willingness and capacity to train in and learn the following areas:

  • Assist operators and programmers to develop and maintain optimal tooling plans.

  • Breakdown extra tools and remove extra tools from the machine racks daily with efficiency, safely and organized.

  • Determine if a variety of cutting tools still have machine life remaining.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' Calibration experience in Aerospace Manufacturing
  • 1-2 years' experience Gage Trak software

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products, supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30p.m.

Pay Range: $20 - $29/hour DOE
