What is the scope of the role? (dept specifics, etc.)
Plans, conducts and demonstrates specific exercise and lifestyle assessment and interventions including: nutrition, weight control, lipid management, blood pressure management, stress management, and smoking cessation. Designs and implements individualized goal oriented exercise prescription for cardiac rehabilitation clients. Conducts new patient interviews which include but not limited to: medical history, functional status, short and long-term goals, nutritional assessment, and emotional status. Provides patient education as it applies to cardiovascular disease risk factor modification. Designs individualized treatment plans for clients entering cardiac rehab and provides 30 day updates to the referring physician and/ or Cardiac Rehabilitation Medical Director. Assists with ECG monitoring and rhythm interpretation

Required Certifications: For Respiratory Therapist:
Credentialed by the National Board Respiratory Care required *
Respiratory Care Practitioner License in Virginia required **
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Healthcare Provider (HCP) - AHA approved required ***
