Job Title: Estimator
Position Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project specifications and drawings, performing cost calculations, and preparing estimates for various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Conduct site visits to gather essential information for the preparation of accurate estimates.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks associated with the project.
Prepare and present estimates to clients, project managers, and stakeholders.
Maintain a database of historical data on project costs and production rates.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
Monitor project progress and compare actual costs to estimated costs, providing updates and reports as necessary.
Assist in the preparation of project proposals, bids, and contracts.
Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Experience in estimating, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost structures.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools such as [Specify Preferred Software].
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Skills:
Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar.
Experience with project management software.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional site visits and travel.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
