GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Production Scheduler/Planner is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production process, developing schedules and plans to ensure that goods are produced efficiently and at the highest quality. Ultimately, must demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and solving problem skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
To achieve the Department’s goals the Production Scheduler/Planner should observe the following requirements:
Ø Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments.
Ø Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.
Ø Periodically compares current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; uses judgment to anticipate demand for and to acquire additional supplies as needed.
Ø Negotiates with outside supply vendors; ensures accurate and timely delivery of orders.
Ø Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
Ø Maintains master distribution schedule for the assigned facility; revises as needed and alerts appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays.
Ø Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff.
Ø Understands the operational flow for the production process.
Ø Setup new product startups.
Ø Creates Baking sequence for use at ovens based off production work plans.
Ø Maintains and update frozen inventories including PO’s, WIP, Finished Goods, and in transit inventory.
Ø Reviews daily inventory counts.
Ø Ensures appropriate usage planning to control ingredient and packaging issues.
Ø Performs other related duties, as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ø Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ø Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ø Thorough understanding of the business and supply chain.
Ø Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ø Extremely proficient with production planning systems.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Ø Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Ø At least five years of related experience required.
Ø Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) preferred.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ø Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ø Bilingual English-Spanish: writing and reading level 85%
MATH ABILITY:
Ø Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentages and analyze trends to fulfill supply needs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word Processing software, Excel and Outlook email software. company software as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather), and to rapid changes in temperature. The employee must be able to tolerate a work environment that contains flour dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
