Summary:

Goldbelt Apex LLC is seeking an Athletic Trainer for the anticipated five-year contract supporting the Human Performance Optimization (HPO) mission to build and implement a holistic HP approach to address increased stress on operators and aircrew members. The goal is to increase the physical and mental capacity of the Special Operations operators and aircrew members over their careers, decreasing the rate of physical and mental injuries and accelerating return to duty times. The program aims to prepare, preserve, sustain, and multiply combat power. 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for all administration and clinical management within the scope of practice as an independent embedded healthcare provider.
  • Evaluate and treat operators and aircrew to enhance and optimize human performance by fully integrating human performance capabilities in delivering training and rehabilitative services.
  • Utilize a range of principles and methodologies to provide examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and outcome assessment for assigned personnel to include but not limited to the operational provision of care associated with individual assessments, injury prevention, and human performance interventions of musculoskeletal conditions in support of personnel readiness.
  • Design and implement strength training and/or conditioning programs to reduce the risk of injury and illness.
  • Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, human performance, and rehabilitation maintenance.
  • Coordinate and supervise the fitness and medical readiness of assigned patients.
  • The Athletic Trainer will follow a Physician collaborator's direction and supervision.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of athletic training principles, injury prevention, and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Health Science, Athletic Training, Health Profession or Physical Education-related discipline.
  • Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).
  • Current (CPR) and (AED) trained.
  • Must show recency within the last 2 years consistent with the Defense Health Agency-Procedures Manual (DHA-PM).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Licensed Athletic Trainer in collegiate (or higher), professional, or tactical athletics; aerospace industry, test pilot/astronaut, or similar man-machine high-performance environment.
  • Graduated from an Athletic Training Education Program Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) or equivalent Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • Must be a US citizen.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $73,000 per year.
