Summary:This position will provide the USCG training support services to Coast Guard personnel in the operation and maintenance of various electronic and navigation systems. Candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of instructional techniques with strong communication skills. Must be willing to travel.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:
- Provide operator training instruction at C3CEN and at various Coast Guard cutters and other afloat and ashore units
- Conduct needs assessments to identify training requirements and develop appropriate training solutions
- Utilize various instructional techniques and training methodologies to ensure effective learning outcomes
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories
- Develop and update training materials, manuals, and user guides to support training initiatives
- Implement innovative training techniques to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention
- Proficient with Sun Solaris, Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office suites
- Proficiency in U.S. Coast Guard navigation and piloting principles
- Strong technical background with expertise in electronic and navigation systems
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Minimum 3 - 10 years training at the adult education level (i.e. Experienced military-trained trainer, trade school instructor, college instructor etc.)
- Minimum 3 years in U.S. Coast Guard RADAR operating principles.
- Must exemplify proficiency (a minimum of three [3] years) in one or more of the following:
- Operation of the Seawatch system.
- Operation of the Vega Electronic Charting System (Vega-ECS)
- Operation of the Vega Electronic Chart Display Integrated System (Vega ECDIS) system
- Operation of the Coast Guard - Electronic Chart Display Integrated System (CGECDIS)
- Must have a SECRET Security Clearance
- Ability to travel
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Electronics Engineering or completion of USCG or DOD Technical Schools preferred.
