Essential Job Functions:

• Develop, implement, and maintain all required safety and health programs, policies and procedures
• Ensure that onsite walk-throughs of all plant locations are completed on a routine basis to coach employees on safe work practices and to promote an accident-free working environment
• Follow-up with department supervisors/managers regarding corrective actions to safety concerns
• Ensure that employees receive training on safety-related topics including, but not limited to, those required by government regulations
• Hold monthly safety committee meetings for each business unit
• Work with the Purchasing department to maintain necessary safety equipment and PPE supplies
• Report any observed issues with compliance to OSHA and other safety-related regulatory standards
• Provide recommendations for capital improvements to promote employee safety
• Submit monthly reports of safety statistics, training, improvement projects and department progress
• Work with outside consultants and other agencies to ensure regulatory compliance
• Complete and submit all OSHA and other safety-related regulatory compliance documentation/reporting
• Document and investigate all accidents and near miss incidents in order to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence
• Review safety manuals, programs, and procedures on at least an annual basis and make necessary updates
• Any other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience

• Associate degree in safety engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline
• Two (2) years of experience in manufacturing environment personnel safety oversight
• Experience with submitting OSHA logs

Licenses / Certifications

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to operate motor vehicles during employment
• CPR
• Confined Space
• Lift Truck / Forklift / Powered Pallet Jacks
• OSHA 10 & 30 Hour

Working Hours:

• Standard workdays are Monday through Friday and as necessary to complete the requirements of the position.
