We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join our team and ensure our production processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Production Planner, reporting to the Plant Manager, who will work with managers, production employees, and the sales team to ensure the company meets customer deadlines and expectations, hits its production goals, and works within budget. They handle all scheduling and ensure the materials, machines and workspaces are ready to go to increase production efficiency. The Production Planner will monitor the overall situation, including incoming orders, supply chain problems, market changes, and inventory issues, to minimize the impact on production. They will not only identify these constraints but also collaborate with other departments and the management team to resolve or overcome these issues while coordinating communication through the sales team to the customer. The Production Planner will also evaluate the workforce needs and schedule and work collaboratively with HR to make sure we align our workforce capacity with customer demand.

Responsibilities

● Lead manufacturing process flow of products from sales order to shipment: planning, scheduling and coordinating production of the company’s products to meet customer deadlines

● Evaluating raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production

● Determine realistic lead times and communicate to Customer Service

● Scheduling shifts and workers to provide proper coverage

● Handling production disruptions, productivity problems that prevent meeting deadlines

● Communication of production status and any production issues to sales/customer service and upper management proactively to eliminate customer surprises

● Watching costs to ensure the production process stays within budget

● Finding ways to improve productivity and reduce costs

● Using market forecasts and competitive analysis to anticipate necessary production changes

●Ensure people (physical and emotional), process, and machine shop safety at all times.

●Address employees’ issues or grievances in an open and timely manner

Qualifications

●Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field.

●Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar role

●Strong leadership skills

● Deadline-driven, competitive, and strong will to win and succeed

●Knowledge of production processes and quality control

●Strong problem-solving skills

●Technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software

●Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees

●Organizational and time-management skills

●Coaching skills with the ability to motivate employees, peers, and support functions

●Proficient computer skills and expert knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams

●Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
