Pay: $50 per hour 

The Assistant Program Director shall assist and or lead in the Initiation, planning, scheduling, setting goals for program services, and monitoring their effectiveness while ensuring adherence to policy and procedural guidelines. Additionally, is responsible for hiring, training, and motivating STP personnel, including bringing fresh approaches and building on their successes.

The essential functions of your job are the following:

· To carry out the essential functions of rehabilitation services in accordance with Title 22:72001 - 22:72713, Code of California Regulations.

· Administers rehabilitation services with local, state, federal codes and regulations and corporate policies and procedures based on acuity of residents.

· Establish and implement a recovery plan for clients suffering from addictions. Maintains effective relationships with patients, demonstrates boundaries, and ensure appropriate care and supervision.

· Provides chemical dependency education/services sensitive to the needs of a Dual Diagnosis population.

· Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform tasks required.

Delegation of Authority

As Assistant Program Director you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out your assigned duties.

Job Functions

Administrative Functions

· Creating and implementing the weekly patient group schedules and selecting the assigned topics. In absence of the program director authorized in making last minutes changes to the STP schedule considering unforeseen changing circumstances.

· Attending and or chairing in the program director’s absence the weekly status and or new patient admission meetings.

· Supporting and or evaluating/assigning the appropriate patient level of care in the absence of the program director.

· May make collaborative assessments and execute appropriate interventions at addressing the safety aspect, the psychiatric and psychological well-being of a mentally and or emotionally destabilized patient.

· Monitoring, tracking, and recording the denial of rights incidence. Aiding and or guiding the appropriate preventative behavioral interventions as to reduce the risk of reoccurring circumstances that lead to the denial of rights.

· Authorized in approving and or denying patient visitation in the event it is contradictory to the patient’s plan of care and or unsafe.

· Leading, guiding, directing, evaluating, and taking appropriate corrective actions regarding the subordinate employee’s completion and or quality of documentation (weekly, Compilation forms, Monthly records, quarterly reviews, behavioral progress notes, and or post incidents entries).

· Assisting, delegating, and or providing in-services in the absence of the program director. Additionally, logging and monitoring the employee in-service attendance while ensuring the 52 yearly training hours are completed.

· Overseeing and assisting in the staffing schedules and assignments. Additionally, enforcing disciplinary actions towards staff insubordination and or issues with timely punctuality.

· Aiding and or evaluating in the absence of the program director the referral packets and rendering a decision about the candidate’s admission eligibility.

· Signing official documents, including employee payroll timesheets and making commitments relevant to supporting and or advancing the interests of the STP department.

· Shall screen and recruit potential new employee hires.

· Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director

Additional duties include the following:

· Assisting in developing and implementing plans and goals for the advancement of the STP department.

· Working with the Program Director to coordinate and supervise daily operations.

· Ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

· May also assist and take on the duties of a rehab case manager on a needed basis

· All other duties as assigned by the Program Director; Administrative duties include but are not limited to those listed.

Other Responsibilities

· Respond to any request for “code strong”.

Staff Development

· Attend and participate in all mandatory in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.

· Duties and responsibilities assigned for the safe and continued operations of the facility.

Safety and Sanitation

· Reports all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., immediately.

Equipment and Supply Functions

· Reports equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your Supervisor as soon as possible.

· Ensures supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.

· Assures that work/assignment areas are clean and records, files, etc., are properly stored leaving such areas on breaks, end of work day, etc.

Resident Rights

· Maintains confidentiality of resident information.

· Knocks before entering a resident’s room.

· Follows DHS and DMH resident’s rights in accordance to Title 22

Working Conditions

· Is subject to frequent interruptions.

· Works beyond working normal working hours, weekends and holidays and other shifts/positions as necessary.

· Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)

· Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.

· Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the day, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.

· Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, ect., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B Viruses.

· Communicates with Rehab Department and other department personnel.

· Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, visitors, etc.

· Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies and personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.

· May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

· Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

· Most possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors and the general public.

· Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.

· Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.

· Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

· Be able to follow written and oral instructions.

· Must maintain confidentiality.

· Must have good organizational and problem solving abilities.

· Be knowledgeable in micro-computers, data input and output.

· Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
