Goldman Sachs is Hiring a Product Manager Developer Desktop Near Dallas, TX

MORE ABOUT THIS JOB:

Your Impact

We are looking for an experienced product manager to lead our Developer Desktop products at Goldman Sachs, maintaining close relationships with our users and other research, design, core and business-aligned software engineering, and SRE to deliver tooling, services and guidance for industry leading software development practices.

Developers should enjoy their working environment and be excited by the importance of their work, and not be discouraged by antiquated processes and tools. The Developer Desktop team improves the tools, environments and processes that engineers across the firm use to develop and deploy software to increase their velocity and business impact. Up-to-date, reproducible and consistent tooling combined with cost-efficient purpose-built development environments will reduce risk for the firm and reduce time developers need to spend on sourcing and configuring their tooling or rebuilding their environments. We reduce the time before new tool versions are made available for developers and enable efficient distribution of internal tools published by other GS platforms. If the platform is discontinued, we will see continued or increased attrition, hampered developer productivity and increased risk from vulnerable and old software tooling.

Our team of product managers work closely with creatives and researchers through our design teams and are fortunate to have many experienced fintech engineers to help architect and develop technologies. We are responsible for guiding products throughout all stages of the product's lifecycle, including research, pitching, scoping, delivering, promoting, and tailoring solutions to our clients.

How will you fulfill your potential?

You will be an experienced and seasoned product manager, working cross-functionally to guide products from conception through launch, growth and maturity by connecting the technical and business worlds to meet our customers at their needs. You will break down complex problems into steps that drive product development and release adopting the principals of growth from MVP.

You will lead the organization to define and drive product and technology strategy, budgeting, managing dependencies to other programs, and interact with customers to understand their needs.

You will be a champion for the firms developers and ensure their needs are met across Developer Experience and Core Engineering products by influencing the teams and acting as a voice for the developer.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience building/shipping technical products
  • 5 years of technical product management experience, including experience driving the product vision, design, and go-to-market strategy
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex problems and technical architectures to all stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with design and engineering peers to lead a product development team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction
  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as product management, engineering, user experience, user research, sales, trading, treasury, customer support or marketing
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
