Golfview Developmental Center is a 135 ICF/DD residential facility located in Des Plaines serving adults with Intellectual Disabilities. The Food Service Director/Purchasing Manager is a full-time salaried position that reports directly to the Administrator. The primary purpose of the position as Food Service Director is to provide direction and supervision for all dietary functions and personnel engaged therein, according to established facility policies and procedures.

Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to:

• Direct and supervise approximately 10 employees in all dietary functions. Interview, hire, and discipline employees as necessary.
• Purchase food and supply as required according to menus
• Oversee the preparation of food according to Title 77 of the Illinois Administrative Code as well as facility policies and procedures.
• In-service staff on dietary policies and procedures.
• Periodically visit residents during meals to evaluate food service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance.
• Plan and assist in the preparation of special meals for parties, holidays, and other special events.
• Actively participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings to ensure/promote optimal dietary intake.
• Perform required quarterly and additional on-going charting in resident records. Maintain records of nutritional assessments, need for reviews, updates, and nutritional charting.
• Responsible to ensure sanitation in the kitchen and service areas meets standards at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
