GoNetspeed is Hiring a Senior Market Manager Near Berlin, CT

The Senior Market Manager is responsible for leading a team of Area Sales Managers in an assigned market that are tasked to drive increased market penetration. The Senior Market Manager will be responsible for leading, recruiting, and developing the Area Sales Managers to both understand and execute the strategies needed for GoNetspeed to achieve our targeted penetration goals. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and leading the members of this team as well as being a critical part of the communities we serve and being a local expert on the assigned territory. This position will also own strategic direction for their assigned territory with primary focus areas being territory management, resource allocation, and recruiting.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Manages a team of Area Sales Managers
  • Responsible for managing and deploying third-party contractor resources to help achieve penetration targets
  • Strategically manages the in-house DSR team’s assigned territory to achieve penetration targets
  • Actively involved in the local community and event planning
  • Effectively cascades the strategic goals of the organization to the frontline
  • Actively engaged in recruiting, hiring, and training
  • Mentors employees to ensure equitable treatment of all staff members in accordance with company policy and practices, and to be certain they are doing their best for themselves and the company
  • Involved in employee development to ensure a continued pipeline of talent for internal promotional opportunities
  • Plays an active role in shaping and executing the strategic vision and plan for the assigned territory
  • Coordinates and leads training of the sales team via internal and external resources
  • Resolves escalations of sales issues as needed
  • Resolves problems, completes audits, identifies trends, determines regional sales system improvements, and implements change when necessary
  • Communicates job expectations by planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions, and employee enforcing policies and procedures
  • Coordinates, plans and executes local sales events with teams
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders in the business
  • Ensures that the sales team is fully trained in products and services
  • Provides analytics, reporting, and other operational support as needed
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and priorities, and the ability to lead and mentor teams
  • Knowledge of sales practices and principles that include strategic sales planning, negotiation, presentation, and territory management
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Skill in operating various office equipment. Proficient in the use of personal computer applications including Microsoft Office, and customer relationship management (CRM) applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts professionally and courteously
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments and manage projects effectively
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and make sound decisions using information at hand
Education and Experience:
  • 2- or 4-year degree preferred
  • Minimum of eight years of sales and/or sales management experience
  • Prior management experience required
Base Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 PLUS Uncapped Commission
Total Target Compensation: $125,000 - $145,000
