Staff Position Opening - Athletic Trainer

Gonzaga College High School seeks a qualified Athletic Trainer for a full-time, 10-month position beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Possess a minimum of a Bachelors' degree in health related field
  • Have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Athletic Training (experience as an intern in a university or secondary school setting can be applied to this standard)
  • Be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) of Athletic Trainers
  • Be eligible for licensure in Maryland and VA
  • Have the ability to provide medical care for athletic injuries
  • Have the ability to react swiftly in emergency situations
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with the school Administration, School Nurse, Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Directors, coaches, athletes and parents
  • Be able to support the school's mission of building young men who are religious, loving, academically competent, open to growth, and committed to doing justice.

Responsibilities of this position include assisting the Athletic Trainers with the coordination and administration of a comprehensive athletic health care program for all student athletes. The Athletic Trainer will help with the supervision of student managers. The Athletic Trainer is also responsible for the rehabilitation, prevention and treatment of athletic injuries. Ideally, the candidate will be open to serving the Gonzaga community by becoming a certified CPR instructor.
