Job Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, thorough knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Estimation:
    • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
    • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documentation to develop comprehensive estimates.
    • Utilize estimation software and tools to compile and calculate costs accurately.
  • Project Evaluation:
    • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather essential information for accurate estimating.
    • Review and evaluate project scope, requirements, and constraints to ensure accurate cost projections.
  • Bid Preparation:
    • Compile and submit competitive bids for construction projects, ensuring all required documentation is included.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate quotes and pricing.
    • Prepare and present bid proposals to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure alignment on project details and cost considerations.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements and expectations.
  • Cost Control and Monitoring:
    • Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Identify potential cost overruns and recommend solutions to stay within budget.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on project financials to management.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and cost-effective construction methods.
    • Implement best practices in estimating and cost control to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimating principles.
  • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift) and MS Office Suite or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
