Goodwill Industries Michiana is Hiring a Salvage Outlet Material Handler - Gary - PT Near Gary, IN
Job ObjectiveTo maintain the warehouse in an orderly and organized condition and to support the mission of Goodwill Industries. This position reports directly to the Salvage Outlet Manager and Transportation Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions
Essential Job Functions
- Knows and understands the Goodwill Mission: Strengthen communities by empowering individuals and families through education, training and job placement.
- Move material as required using a pallet jack or dolly.
- Sort material from gaylords, poly carts, tables and cages as required for warehousing.
- Safely move tables to and from sales floor in a timely manner.
- Accurately prepare and process salvage materials for shipment.
- Maintain general good housekeeping and cleanliness of warehouse as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Ability to read and write clearly.
- Ability to safely operate pallet jack.
- Ability to safely operate tippers, must be 18 to operate.
- Ability to safely operate compactor, must be 18 to operate.
- Ability to accurately weigh material.
- Follow the dress code and wear designated identification as provided.
- Ability to read and write clearly.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to work in a light industrial area with significant dust.
