GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF CENTRAL MICHIGAN'S HEARTLAND is Hiring a Textile Production Supervisor Near Battle Creek, MI

Purpose or General Objective:

To supervise a team of Retail Production Employees, holding them accountable to meet GICMH production standards and agency policies and procedures.

Essential Duties:

  • Continually serve as a positive role model for all associates, participants, and customers working with Goodwill.
    • Appropriate and professional communication, appearance, and behavior.
    • Comply with and enforce all agency policies and procedures.
    • Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving between locations within appropriate timelines.
  • Ensure outgoing items and merchandise are prepared and properly labeled (carts, hangers, waste).
  • Ensure all completed and required items and information are forwarded to headquarters.
  • Maintain open communication with the plant regarding any shipment concerns and/or requests.
  • Continually support and work cooperatively with all members of retail and upper management as well as all other departments within GICMH.
  • Continually support and work cooperatively with Human Resources on the timely and accurate handling of processes, including but not limited to:
  • Recruit, hire, and train to ensure you have a functional, cohesive staff.
  • Performance Appraisals
  • Maintain updated associate and participant files
  • Corrective Actions
  • Attendance tracking
  • Accident reporting
  • Responsible for periodic inventory of product & supplies, as scheduled.
  • Responsible for periodic Safety Training and Drills.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping, including auditing of 5-Minute drills.
  • Provide complete and accurate information on all required items to be forwarded to corporate headquarters
  • Individual production tracking
  • Department production tracking
  • Availability to meet operational needs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and holidays as needed
  • Ability to attend all scheduled retail training and meetings and provide own transportation and adequate insurance for such. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s liability insurance provider.

Additional Duties:

  • Maintain a safe environment for all employees, participants, and customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by the District Manager, Retail Director, or Sr. Vice President of Retail Sales/Donated Goods.

Results Expected:

  • Ability to work productively without close supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality of participants, associates, and agency information.
  • Exceed production goals to support the retail store in achieving sales budgets.
