Peer Recovery & Wellness Program Coordinator
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Coordinate programming, facilitate groups, and provide peer-to-peer supports and case management within the Recovery and Wellness Support Program in a person-centered, trauma informed manner to support individuals with skill development and resources to assist in their recovery process and increase independence, hope and recovery.

- Coordinate groups, activities, and schedule for the Recovery and Wellness Support Program.
- Provide exceptional customer service delivery to all individuals in a welcoming, hopeful and trauma informed manner.
- Welcome and assist all individuals who access the Recovery and Wellness Support Center and services with resource acquisition needs and make appropriate referrals.
- Assist individuals to connect with peers and communities to develop networks of support.
- Assist individuals with making independent choices, identifying strengths, personal resources, and taking a proactive role in their recovery.
- Facilitate support and life skills groups to help individuals with recovery, spiritual, or wellness issues.
- Provide group and individual education on a variety of topics, including housing, finance, employment, physical health, system navigation, crisis management, decision-making, social skills, and other identified topics based on needs.
- Lead recreational activities.
- Develop and maintain active relationships with community partners.
- Engage community partners to facilitate additional groups and activities.
- Maintain a caseload and complete paperwork and documentation as required by the service definition, including but not limited to intake, assessment, plan development, plan reviews, and summary of progress.
- Provide person-centered interventions as noted in the treatment plan.
- Maintain knowledge of best practices, recovery principles, and group facilitation techniques.
- Ensure a calendar of groups, educational opportunities, and recreational activities is prepared each month and provided to individuals served and other community stakeholders.
- Conduct community outreach activities as assigned.
- Collect and organize community resource information.
- Adhere to confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Meet attendance and appearance requirements per Goodwill policy.
- Perform work activities in conformance to Goodwill values (respect, integrity, compassion, stewardship, learning, teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit), immediately report any wrongdoing (unethical/improper conduct, fraud, fiscal mismanagement, etc.), embrace cultural diversity, and encourage/support others to do all the same.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Self-identify as having lived experience as an individual diagnosed with a mental health or substance use disorder, or as a parent to a child with a mental health or substance use disorder
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent, and have demonstrated skills and competencies in treatment of individuals with a behavioral health diagnosis, demonstrated by at the one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology, sociology, or a related field (preferred), or
- Two years coursework in the human services field, or
- One year of recovery experience with demonstrated competencies and skills in treatment of individuals with mental health diagnosis
- Must be able to obtain the Nebraska DHHS Peer Support Specialist Certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain the certification.
- Training and experience in group facilitation and case management is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license issued in the State of Nebraska and meet insurance requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to communicate in spoken conversation, adequate volume speech, and have normal hearing for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
- Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and situations; to move safely about the work area.
- Visual acuity, depth perception and field of vision within normal range.
- Physical stamina to work at least eight (8) hours per day.

Salary : $18 - $20
