Truck Driver II

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Truck Driver IIwill be responsible for the safe driving of any agency vehicle, including but not limited to trailers. Responsible for loading, unloading, and securing all appropriate material.The Truck Driver II is expected to be courteous and professional while upholding the core Goodwill values of -Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

·Load, unload, and secure all appropriate material on an assigned vehicle in a safe manner

·Transport specified load to and from assigned/established route locations. Ensure all assets are safeguarded before, during, and after the transfer

·Inspect the truck and any associated equipment daily and report any issues to the supervisor

·Perform minor emergency roadside repairs including but not limited to adding fluids, changing fuses, installing light bulbs, etc., that can be taken care of in-house

·Ensure all manifests are completed, accurate, and submitted to the appropriate department

·Ensure all operations are followed by agency’s policies and procedures

·Responsible for complying with all state and federal regulations that govern commercial vehicles at all times. Adhere to and enforce all safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to others or him/herself and damage to any property, equipment, and/or inventory

·Embrace the core values of the agency in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the community

·Contribute to the fulfillment of department and agency objectives and goals

·Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·Ability to sort and classify product lines following company procedures

·Able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and Drug/Alcohol screen

·Ability to communicate effectively with internal employees and external customers

·Ability to work well with others in a respectful and collaborative work manner

·Ability to read, write and communicate effectively

·Ability to use hand/power tools as required

·Ability to become forklift certified within 30 days of continuous employment

·At least 3 years driving experience

·Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

·Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) annual physical exam

Preferred Qualifications

·High school diploma or equivalent

·Forklift certified

·Bilingual

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

·Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch for extended periods

·Weather conditions – variable – including extreme heat and cold, may work outside for extended periods

·Ability to work in a humid and/or dusty environment

·Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. or more with 2-person assistance
