How this role supports our mission:

The Assistant Loss Prevention Manager assists the LP Manager with security activities including, but not limited to Corporate Facility, Retail/Outlet Stores, Transportation, and Attended Donation Centers, buildings and property owned and/or operated by Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona. The Assistant Loss Prevention Manager also assists with safety to prevent and minimize accidents and liability issues at these sites. In coordination with the Loss Prevention Manager, the assistant facilitates in the delivery of effective asset control, builds trust across the company, and helps achieve department objectives.

What we require from you:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. * Demonstrate company’s values at all times.
  2. * Supervise and influence LP team to ensure adherence to department standards and company policies.
  3. * Train and educate Goodwill employees on loss prevention best practices and company procedures.
  4. * Confidentially identify, investigate, and resolve all internal and external theft cases, striving to minimize company loss. Generate reports of findings and recommendations as outlined in department operating procedures.
  5. * Conduct surveillance activities to identify potential security risks and prevent theft or loss.
  6. Report suspicious activities or violations of company policy to manager for further direction and follow up.
  7. * Maintain and manage alarm systems, locks, keys, CCTV, and access controls.
  8. * Travel to company locations to perform trainings, audits, and investigations.
  9. Utilizes CCTV system to identify threats related to theft, shrinkage, safety, and operational compliance.
  10. Perform special security duties as assigned, including observation, interviewing, integrity checks, document assessment, and undercover assignments.
  11. Help ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, security regulations, and governing standards.
  12. Other related duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Associates Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  2. 2 years of loss prevention experience overseeing multiple locations
  3. 2 years of experience in a customer service driven environment
  4. Experience with retail, warehouse, or distribution center
  5. Experience supervising and coaching team members
  6. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  7. Must have a valid Arizona’s driver’s license, current auto insurance, with a good driving record, and reliable vehicle.
  8. Ability and willingness to travel throughout Southern Arizona to support company’s needs.
  9. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all individuals.
  10. Must be able to work independently, be resourceful, and action-oriented.
  11. Must present themselves in a manner that promotes the policies of safety for self, others, and company property.
  12. Possess mental ability to use independent judgment, make quick decisions under pressure, and effectively manage confrontations.
  13. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  14. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  15. Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  16. Must be detail oriented.
