This is a rare opportunity for the right Goodwill Donated Goods leader to join one of the best-performing Goodwill's in the network. Over more than a decade, we have had very strong material donation performance (over 4 donations / square foot).We're looking for a strong leader who can improve production, efficiency and sell-thru for the significant volume of donations we receive.
One of our major initiatives is investing in our own workforce through Goodwill Academy™ of Virginia - a unique opportunity to bring our longstanding workforce development expertise to our associates by helping them identify career pathways while gaining job skills, soft skills, and leadership experience within our existing retail operations.
We have experienced a strong rebound following COVID-19 and have significant reserves on hand to move to invest in the future of our organization and our associates.This leadership role will play a pivotal role in our path forward and the restart of our strong retail operations.

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia employs nearly 1,300 associates, operates 36 retail stores, 2 outlets, auction operations, broker salvage for other Goodwill's, and manages the National Cooperative Purchasing Program for over 100 Goodwills.We serve our territory from 3 major support centers located in Richmond, Hampton, and Virginia Beach.
Position Summary:
Provides senior management direction to Real Estate, Facilities, and Post Retail Operations including
ADCs, Salvage, Auction, Warehouse, and Transportation of the Retail Operations function within Goodwill
Industries to meet or exceed sales and net gain targets.
Essential Duties(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)
1. Work effectively with Goodwill's leadership team to develop overall corporate strategy and move the
organization toward its goals; Collaborates with VP, DGR and team.
2. Responsible for the professional development of our associates.
3. In concert with Technology and Finance, develop, monitor, and continuously improve a management
information system for daily, monthly, and annual performance metrics. Develop, monitor, and approve
standard operating procedures and metrics that measure progress and maximize financial returns. Hold all
staff accountable for achievement of individual goals.
4. Responsible for the growth and development of the donated goods operation. Develop short- and longrange
strategies for the donated goods operation that support the corporate strategic plan. Includes:
identification and development of new market opportunities for donations and retail sales. Maximize the
effectiveness of retail support operations and post-retail sales.
5. In concert with Facilities and Finance, analyze market opportunities for new retail distribution. Oversee
new site selection, store sizing, facility layout, and financial projections. Maximize market penetration.
6. Ensure that strategic plan goals are effectively translated into an operating budget. Analyze and propose
The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.
•High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or a
related field preferred.
•7 Years' full-time experience in retail sales management or production management required.
•No professional certifications are required for this position.
•Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.
•Associates in this position will be required to successfully pass both state and federal criminal
background checks and sex offender checks.
•Ability to operate PC and databases, proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and
PowerPoint.
