**Pay Rate:** $15.00/hr

**Hours:** 7:00 am to 1:30 pm, Monday-Friday

Keeps Food Services work areas clean and sanitary, including but not limited to kitchenware, insulated containers, floors, and counter surfaces.

Subscribes to and promotes Goodwill of the Finger Lakes mission, vision, and values. Functions as an active Food Service team member to achieve organization and department goals.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Prepares work area for appropriate set-up in accordance with established work methods and operations, including dish machine, floor mats & mops and buckets.

- Follows established work methods and practices to maintain work area and equipment cleanliness and sanitation:

- Interaction with customers and associates etc. using facility core values.

- Uses sprayers, scrapers and scrubbers to remove particles from utensils.

- Operate and maintains automatic dishwasher in appropriate manner.

- Returns cleaned items to appropriate places in Food Service area.

- Operate and maintains garbage disposal.

- Sweeps, mops, washes floors and counter areas to ensure that cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.

- Removes stackers and pans from the dock area.

- Removes trash from work areas and proper operation of compactor.

- Daily cleaning of equipment in area including but not excluding stackers and coolers.

- Ships food items to our customers on daily basis.

- Reports any safety concerns and/or mechanical problems to Manager of Food Service.

- Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the organization and the department by completing all other tasks, as assigned.

- Ensures all mandatory in-services are completed within established time frame.

- Adheres to facility and departmental dress code.

- Maintains working knowledge of organization specific MSDS sheets

- Maintains working knowledge of location of fire extinguishers and pull boxes.

- Maintains working knowledge of proper emergency procedures of department.

- 5. Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the organization and the department by completing all other tasks as assigned.

- Demonstrates reliability and dependability by working scheduled hours.

- Demonstrates punctuality by reporting to work on time and leaving work at the assigned end of shift.

**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**:

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), preferred.

Six months' related experience and/or training, preferred.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS**:

Able to read and/or comprehend straightforward English instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to communicate well with other staff, employees, and guests of the organization.

**REASONING ABILITY**:

Able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to load and unload the institutional dishwasher and operate the garbage disposal. The employee frequently is required to mop floors and wipe surfaces. The specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with and near the dish machine and the garbage disposal and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
