Hours M-F 7am-3:30pm, On Call required.
POSITION: Resident Services Director
DEPARTMENT: Resident Services
SUPERVISOR: Executive Director

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

Education: Graduate from high school. Nursing or Social Work license preferred

Experience: Prefer medical experience in geriatrics either through training or experience. Prior management experience is a must. 

Working conditions: Assisted living and office environment; light lifting; irregular hours; routine engagement with resident, staff and visitors.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Organize and recruit clinical service staff and scheduling for 24 hour coverage to meet all residents needs.

Subsequent to hire: training, scheduling, supervising and ongoing evaluation of clinical service staff for all shifts, delegating as necessary.

Establish and maintain goals and objectives for quality resident care consistent with facility goals and objectives.

Assure that the standards of practice are of the highest quality consistent with the standards of professional practice and maintain compliance to the Assisted Living and Dementia Care regulations in the state of Kentucky.

Ensure person centered Care Plans are initiated and updated as needed and signed off by the Regional Clinical RN.

Review resident Levels of Care on admission, yearly and as needed to ensure appropriate level is in place and communicate associated charges to the billing personnel.
Plan and coordinate services affecting resident care while working cooperatively with other departments and clinical service to provide the highest quality care to residents.
Maintain good relationships with residents and their families, clinical service staff and the community.
Assure adequate 24-hour service coverage in the facility each day.
Assess and resolve personnel issues and build in the program maximum associate motivation.
Participate in the admission of all residents including level of care assessment for proper placement. This may include home visits and medical history review.
Assess and maintain adequate stock of supplies and equipment within approved budget. Understand the budget process and adhere to the budgeted amount of spending monthly. If for any reason the targeted budget amount will be more than budgeted, get approval from the Executive Director prior to spending.

Establish and maintain protocol for resident care planning within specified time frames and modify when necessary.

Conduct resident care conferences with families and physicians when appropriate.

Coordinate discharge planning as needed.

Conduct all necessary in-service training and associate meetings that may be required.

Prepare ongoing reports as directed by the Executive Director.

Other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.

On call for 24/7 needs of care staff and residents to provide guidance.

Review and report all resident and staff incident reports to Executive Director.

Communicate any incidents of concern to the Executive Director.

Ensure resident call lights are being answered timely.

Stay up to date with state regulations.In the absence of the Executive Director, responsible for total operations of the building and maintaining all standards of care.
Respecting HIPPA laws and maintaining confidentiality.
Provide education to staff to ensure all job duties are understood and being carried out appropriately. Writing up any staff that break the rules as listed in the handbook and ensure they understand that continued unsatisfactory performance could result in termination.
Understand all job duties and communicate to supervisor if you do not. You will be held accountable for those job duties and subject to reprimand if they are not performed as trained.
