Job DescriptionPosition Summary: This position will spearhead the establishment of Gordon Conwell’s counseling center on the Charlotte campus. The position includes overseeing the initial establishment and operations of the center, establishing and maintaining relationships with community referral sources, providing clinical supervision to student interns, and overseeing the center’s support staff. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the establishment of Gordon Conwell’s counseling center including overseeing the finalizing of office setup, website and marketing materials.
Develop a counseling center operations handbook
Lead student interns through site onboarding
Oversee the daily operations of the counseling center
Provide weekly supervision to student interns
Complete semester reviews for students
Initiate and maintain relationships with referral sources, especially area churches
Oversee the updating of marketing materials and the center’s website
Oversee center’s support staff
Attend Gordon Conwell counseling department meetings
Monitor weekly referrals and weekly revenue
Track center’s monthly budget

Entrepreneurial Skills: Ability to establish and grow a vision for the counseling center
Management Skills: Ability to oversee and track interns’ and support staff’s responsibility
Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy with students, coworkers, and constituents.
Communication and Interpersonal Effectiveness: Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and serve in a team environment that requires collegiality and regular collaboration across multiple locations and modalities.
Technical Knowledge: Competency with Microsoft Office, prioritizing Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to use web conferencing software (e.g., Zoom) required.
Reporting and Monitoring: Ability to generate reports and track student clinical hours.
Clear understanding of the mission of the Seminary and willingness to abide by the Community Life Statement of GCTS.
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in the field of Clinical Counseling or related field required.
Training and experience in clinical supervision
Actively engaged in a Christian community.
Robust clinical experience.
Ability to obtain NC clinical supervision license prior to June 1, 2025
