Position Summary: Presents a positive image to Gordon Food Service (GFS) customers through courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries of GFS products. Serves as liaison between GFS management and customers. Communicates all customer issues and concerns. Operates GFS equipment in a professional and safe manner demonstrating attention to detail, safe work habits, working knowledge of Tractor-Trailer, refrigerated van and the ability to deal effectively with customers and the public. What We Offer: Starting rate of $21/Hourly Get to be home every day Family culture. 125 year, family owned and operated company history Duties & Responsibilities Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationship Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift) Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routes Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices Following health and safety and safe work procedures Required Skills & Qualifications Valid Class 1 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract. Adheres to safety and compliance regulations. Previous professional driving experience is preferred Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions Excellent customer service skills. Strong mechanical aptitude A high-level of integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision and be self directed. Professional demeanor under stressful situations.
