Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our Workers' Compensation team.

Job Scope:

Assists Workers Compensation attorneys in different aspects of case management. Provides clerical and research support services including discovery; research, investigations, and fact checking in an efficient and timely manner.

Functions:

• Gather and analyze information, as well as relevant documents associated with files, and enter pertinent information into case management software
• Prepare documents and correspondence such as typing discovery answers from clients into the proper format for attorney review 
• Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects mostly including discovery and forms preparation
• Assists in drafting legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures as assigned by attorney.
• Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case documents on assigned tasks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Legal Assistant / Paralegal experience a plus but not required
• Strong organization skills required
• High School diploma required
