Senior General Ledger Accountant
The Senior General Ledger Accountant is responsible for general accounting functions for the US operations of the company. In this role, the ideal candidate will collaborate with global teammates and cross-functional teams, assist with monthly closings and account analysis. In addition, this position reports to the US Controller and assists with end-to-end operational finance processes.
Responsibilities:

• Own multiple areas of the financial close and reporting process from end-to-end; calculate and record journal entries, obtain and review required supporting documentation, and perform account reconciliations.
• Performing frequent trend/variance analyses across all relevant general ledger accounts, and investigating and resolving discrepancies timely.
• Develop and document business processes and related controls, including flowcharts as needed.
• Assist in the daily activities of accounting and financial operations.
• Prepares monthly general ledger entries and supports the monthly closing process identifying concerns or inconsistencies.
• Responsible for accurate recordkeeping including coding and processing of financial information.
• Participates in the annual audit.
• Participates in the development and preparation of the Annual Budget
• Partner with the global accounting/reporting teams to operationalize the accounting relating to complex transactions.
• Assist with annual external audit, including preparation of audit request items and schedules.
• Stay up to date with relevant accounting standards and assess operational implications for any relevant changes.

Basic Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 5 years of financial statements auditing, financial accounting, or similar experience
• Analytical experience, including experience in Excel
• Experience working with business partners and engineers to effect changes
• Experience in optimizing or re-designing existing processes resulting from business needs

• Familiarity with US GAAP

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA preferred
• Experience with SAP preferred
