Goshen Baptist Preschool is Hiring a Preschool Childcare Teacher Near West Chester, PA

Goshen Baptist Preschool provides a positive first school experience that focuses on the social, physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual growth of our students while ministering to the children, parents and families in the West Chester community.

As a ministry of Goshen Baptist Church, we seek to strengthen families and cultivate friendships through Jesus Christ.

**Job Summary:**

Undergraduate degree (teaching) or teaching certification is desirable. Previous teaching experience (one year ) and/or work with young children. Skills and abilities are required in interpersonal relationships, time management, creative thinking, planning, and budget management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Professional Responsibilities

  • Provide/promote a Christian example in attitude, word, and deed
  • Maintain satisfactory punctuality and attendance
  • Contribute to the promotion and improvement of preschool
  • Interact in a respectful manner with all fellow employees, parents, and students
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner; meeting all required deadlines and due dates
  • Attend and participate in all required staff meetings, trainings, and inservice days
  • Demonstrate a willingness to be a team player and maintain a positive attitude toward fellow teaching staff
  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all policies and procedures as described in the Teacher Handbook

Skills with Children

  • Demonstrates ability to build strong, positive relationship with each child
  • Disciplines in a positive and loving manner
  • Shows awareness of each child’s ability and level of development
  • Reports any special needs, suspected abuse, or other problems to the administrator

Skills with Parents

  • Maintain confidentiality and availability to parents
  • Use appropriate and thorough methods of communication with parents
  • Take God-given opportunities to share Christ and Biblical truths with parents
  • Compose and distribute monthly newsletter and calendar in a timely fashion
  • Keep parents informed of students’ progress/concerns via conferences, emails, etc.

Instructional Responsibilities

  • Appropriate themes with child-centered aims
  • diverse and challenging in all learning areas
  • Provide written lesson plans and submit by appropriate date
  • Provide students with “hands-on” activities
  • Curriculum presented at age appropriate level
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of each student’s abilities
  • Establish one-on-one interaction with students
