Assistant Manager of Safety

gpac, a 30 year-old recruitment company, is partnered with a well-established company in the home building and materials distribution sector. Our client, a family-owned business for over 75 years, is seeking an Assistant Manager of Safety to join their dynamic team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the safety minded individual who is looking to take their knowledge and leadership skills to the next level. As the Assistant Manager of Safety, you will report directly to the Director of Safety. You will play a vital role in promoting and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. Your expertise and guidance will help create a culture of safety excellence within the entire company.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct safety training programs for current employees and assist with part of the new employee onboarding process.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Investigate and report accidents and near-miss incidents.
  • Collaborate with department managers to develop corrective action plans.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee and implement the company's safety programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees regarding safety protocols.
  • Maintain and update safety records and documentation.
  • Conduct safety meetings and communicate safety-related updates to the team.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership abilities with a passion for promoting safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

In addition to joining a reputable company in a stable industry, our client offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 and a comprehensive benefits package. This includes medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and vacation time.
