An established employer is seeking a Distribution Operations Center Plant Manager to join the team! This individual will be responsible for oversight of the daily activities and supervision of employees of the distribution plant. Additionally, the Distributions Plant Manager will also manage planning operations/activities, while maintaining budget parameters. Strong problem solving skills and a strategic, creative mindset with the ability to think on their feet.
Major Tasks, Accountabilities And Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring of distribution center employees, associated activities and required tasks
- Providing assistance with any concerns or issues on the distribution work floor
- Ensures inventory delivered is organized and stored with accessibility and quality maintenance at mind
- Creation and maintenance of a plant layout plan streamlining both the storeage and retreival of inventory
- Project planning, and setting specific objectives for employees to meet
- Ensuring orders are responded to in an efficient manner, allowing timely and accurate delivery
- Resolving any concerns with clients/customers regarding any discrepancies, errors or other issues
- Communication with distribution center management and staff the status of products, shipping times, or any other concerns
- Work proactively, always striving to be better and improving workflows/processes to increase business flow
- Identify and handle improvements in the operations area necessary to meet the variance commitments for the plant and cost objectives. Ensure that cost gaps are identified, action plans developed, and adequate resources allocated to meet all financial objectives.
- Drive overall supply chain capabilities by running plant wide implementation of TPM, true efficiency, and team development.
- Achieve all productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety & motivation Key Performance Indicators objectives.
- Provide a work environment which adheres to all compliance and regulatory guidelines.
- Evaluate business unit capabilities, skills, and resource alignment to ensure performance against objectives. Lead realignment and work redesign efforts as necessary to provide executional excellence.
- Champion an environment of continuous improvement that meets or exceeds division expectations.
- Establish clear performance and behavioral expectations for all employees.
- Provide active and positive leadership in the effort to drive the cultural across the facility.
- This role requires regular presence on the plant floor as well as occasional work
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations or supply chain management, or similar field
- Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, proven by successful completion of a major improvement project.
- Previous experience in Distribution Center Operations, in a management role
- Ability to lead multiple projects of varying priorities simultaneously.
- Effectively partner with plant personnel, outside contractors and different functional groups within the business units.
- Working knowledge of quality systems, finance, capital planning, and project cost tracking and forecasting, economic justification analysis, statistical process control, and distribution management systems.
- Demonstrated leadership in safety & environmental compliance.
- Strong innovative external focus with proven ability to affect sustainable change.
- Effective working in a volatile and complex environment and work with a sense of urgency that drives effective results
- Strong influence management and interpersonal skills, ability to gain organizational consensus.
- High levels of analytical and financial acumen to use data to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities and accurately assess financial impacts.
- Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of an organization.
- Validated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others
- This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
- Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record
