Seeking Talented Early-Career Quality Engineer!A local, state of the art manufacturer is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team.
A Quality Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and compliance of products or components in various industries. This team is seeking a highly skilled and process-driven Quality Inspect with significant experience in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Quality Control and Quality Assurance and a passion for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Position will provide supervisor leadership to on- site Quality department.
Quality Engineer ResponsibilitiesMust have CMM with CMM programming (PCDIMIS) Experience.
  • Read blueprints, specifications, and instructions to determine the quality requirements for the product.
  • Utilize sophisticated quality control inspection equipment such as CMMs and its software.
  • Conduct thorough visual inspections and measurements of products, materials, or components using various tools and instruments. Ensure that products meet defined quality specifications and standards.
  • Perform inspection duties, but not limited to analyzing data metrics to further implement and maintain processes improvement initiatives for the effectiveness of the Quality Management Systems (QMS), to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine audits to assess areas for improvement and ensure adherence to established procedures.
  • Manage documentation and records related to quality assurance activities, including process maps, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and enhance overall process performance.
  • Identify and document any defects, deviations, or non-conformities in products or materials. Categorize defects according to severity and take appropriate actions, such as marking, tagging, or quarantining items.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspection and testing activities, including test reports, inspection logs, and non-conformance reports. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensure that products adhere to industry standards, company specifications, and relevant regulations. Stay informed about changes in quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with production teams to provide real-time feedback on quality issues and work together to address and resolve quality concerns promptly.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements, efficiency improvements, or changes to prevent recurring quality issues.
  • Ensure that inspection equipment and tools are properly calibrated and maintained. Report any equipment malfunctions or calibration deviations.
  • Communicate quality concerns with suppliers, if necessary, and assist in the resolution of supplier-related quality issues.
  • Generate regular quality reports and communicate quality metrics to management. Provide updates on the status of quality-related activities and any corrective actions taken.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis.
Quality Engineer Qualifications
  • Engineering or related degree is preferred, but technical or vocational training in quality assurance will be considered as well
  • 2-5 years of experience in quality inspection or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools, gauges, and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME 14.5-2009)
  • Working knowledge of welding symbols
  • Experience in preparing AS9102B First Article Inspections Reports
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9120 or ISO13485 is also acceptable).
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes and methodologies including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen preferred.
