Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates for heavy civil projects, particularly focusing on underground utilities and site development.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine the scope of work and required resources.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for precise estimates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Use HeavyBid software proficiently to create detailed estimates and proposals.
- Provide support during the bid process, including attending pre-bid meetings and conducting site visits as needed.
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and construction techniques to enhance estimating accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil estimating, with a focus on underground utilities and site development.
- Proficiency in HeavyBid software for estimating purposes.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
