Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Wastewater Treatment Superintendent to oversee the daily operations of our wastewater treatment facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient, effective, and compliant operations. The Superintendent will manage staff, coordinate with regulatory bodies, and implement operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of wastewater treatment facilities to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage and supervise facility personnel, including operators, technicians, and maintenance staff.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to optimize plant performance and efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze treatment processes, adjusting as necessary to maintain water quality standards.
- Prepare and manage the facility budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies on facility upgrades and projects.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on plant operations and performance.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and training programs for all staff.
- Address and resolve operational issues and emergencies promptly.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical data and operational reports.
- Proficiency with computer systems and software used in plant operations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Valid wastewater treatment operator certification (e.g., Class III or IV) preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
