Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney, licensed in Illinois, to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workers' compensation and personal injury defense. This role requires excellent litigation skills, a deep understanding of Illinois workers' compensation laws, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively.
Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in workers' compensation and personal injury defense cases.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Handle all aspects of discovery, including depositions and interrogatories.
  • Appear before administrative agencies, and state and federal courts.
  • Advise clients on legal issues and case strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in mediations and arbitrations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case files and documentation.
  • Meet and exceed a billable hour requirement of 2100 hours annually.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Illinois.
  • 2 years of experience in workers' compensation and/or personal injury defense.
  • Strong litigation and trial advocacy skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
