Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated X-ray Technician to join our team. As an X-ray Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and high-quality medical imaging services to our patients. Your expertise in operating X-ray equipment and knowledge of anatomy and physiology will contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

Qualifications:

• Must have ARRT-R certification
• Must have BLS
• Location: Iowa City, IA
• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: 6 months, 6-month option to extend
• Schedule/shift: 8-hour day shift (start time ranges between 7am-9:30am) M-F

Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly
- Ensure patient safety by following radiation safety protocols
- Adjust and control equipment settings to obtain optimal images
- Evaluate images for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging techniques
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Skills:
- Proficient in operating X-ray equipment and related technology
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with various imaging techniques such as CT scans, PET scans, and mammography
- Ability to accurately position patients for optimal imaging results
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
