Job Description
Salary: $17 / Hour

The Employment Specialist is responsible for facilitating the employment process for individuals with disabilities. This includes identifying suitable job opportunities, providing vocational guidance, evaluating work skills, fostering relationships with employers, and offering ongoing support to ensure successful job retention.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Develops employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities receiving employment services through Grace Reliant using a wide range of resources and contacts.
  • Develop relationships with employers in order to identify job opportunities; utilize job carving and job creation strategies, as needed; assist employers in understanding options for job accommodations and support and strategies to promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in their workforce.
  • Need to have a reliable vehicle to transport consumers and travel around Cape Girardeau/Perryville area as needed.
  • Provides training and support to consumers working in the community to facilitate their successful transition into employment utilizing best practices in the field.
  • Provides on-going support to program participants including job training, counseling, and service coordination in accordance with individual needs.
  • Offer case management and service coordination to facilitate access to essential services for employment outcomes.
  • Collects data and maintains records as required by the state and Grace Reliant.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
