I have an immediate need for an in-person 8th grade Catholic High School entry exam (HSPT) tutor to meet with the student at the Villanova Preparatory School at 12096 N. Ventura Avenue in Ojai. The student is a rising 8th grader at Our Lady of the Assumption School. He will need tutoring for the HSPT (Catholic High School entry exam).

The student is doing well in school, just needs some guidance for extra confidence for his HSPT so he can get into the high school of his choice. The math portion is the main focus.The test covers both math and English.

The student's goal is to feel confident taking the HSPT and he is aiming for the highest score he can get.

Mom wants 1 hour sessions 2 times a week, between 1pm & 9pm, any day Monday through Friday.

Catholic High School Entrance Exam (HSPT):

The HSPT is a two and a half hour exam whose purpose is to see if the student is ready for high school. The student's readiness is tested using 298 consecutivly numbered questions over five skill areas.

• Part 1: Verbal Skills. 60 questions in 16 minutes • Part 2: Quantitative Skills. 52 questions in 30 minutes • Part 3: Reading. 62 questions in 25 minutes • Part 4: Mathematics. 64 questions in 45 minutes • Part 5: Language Skills. 60 questions in 25 minutes

Job Requirements

• Tutor must be willing to work in person, face to face at the Villanova Preparatory School at 12096 N. Ventura Avenue in Ojai.
• Tutor must be available for 1 hour sessions 2 times a week, between 1pm & 9pm, any day Monday through Friday.
• Minimal travel required to meet with student (you decide the distance you are willing to travel, typically 5-10 miles)
• Due to insurance requirements applicants must not be a minor.
