Job DescriptionJob Summary:The VAWA/SASP Master’s level TRC Clinician will be responsible for helping survivors of violent crime overcome barriers to accessing mental health treatment, health care, and legal resources immediately following a trauma or traumatic experience. The Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) model was developed to address the needs of underserved
crime survivors—people who often face the biggest barriers to accessing healing services. The TRC model is
specifically designed to reach those who have fallen through the cracks of traditional support services. The VAWA/SASP Master’s level clinician will assist in the facilitation of care for recent survivors of different types of violent crime such as sexual assault, domestic violence and other violent crimes against women.
Under direct guidance and supervision of the TRC Program Manager, provides clinical intakes, individual and group psychotherapy services. Unique to the TRC model, the VAWA/SASP Master’s level TRC Clinician will also serve as a full time case manager providing assertive outreach, and clinical case management services using evidenced based practices that are effective for the service populations.
Under direct guidance and supervision, provides risk assessment and crisis intervention as needed.
Job Responsibilities
  • Under direct guidance and supervision, performs crisis intervention as needed.
  • Facilitate coordination of services among various agencies; advocates for and kinks clients to needed services based on assessment.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment and service plans for each client.
  • Conduct clinical intake of new clients using trauma informed approach.
  • May visit patients at home and/or in the community for purpose of outreach and follow up if the patient is unable to keep regularly scheduled appointments.
  • Utilize knowledge of mental health, medical and community resources and maintain familiarity with new programs.
  • Record keeping and administration and other duties.
  • Clinical supervision, teaching, training and program development.
  • Help clients apply for victims compensation.
  • Clinical intervention, consultation, psychotherapy (individual and group)
  • Provide Case management services- provides service coordination and/or linkage to community services that meet the needs of the individual patient
  • Required to complete 1 hour of individual supervision to work towards licensure requirements.
  • Under direct guidance and supervision, may provide diagnostic assessments to patients under their care.
Job Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
  • Experience working with patients from undeserved populations.
