Job purpose

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the ancillary facilities such as offices, breakrooms, bathrooms, and locker rooms to establish a clean surrounding environment for producing and packaging quality products. Ensures sanitation equipment and facilities are effectively cleaned according to established food manufacturing regulations and government sanitation requirements.

Duties and responsibilities

The job's primary responsibilities are to ensure that the sanitation tasks listed in the Master Sanitation Schedule are completed at the outlined frequency per the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

● Sweeping, cleaning, and sanitizing floors, drains, and walls to maintain required cleanliness standards.

● Cleaning and sanitizing sinks, countertops, mirrors, and toilets used outside of production facilities.

● Routinely removing trash from bins and frequently cleaning and sanitizing.

● Maintaining overall organization to sanitation room, breakrooms, locker rooms, etc.

● Aiding in the maintenance of facility grounds.

● Understanding and use of cleaning chemicals. Aspects include safety, measurements, and applications of the chemical.

● Sustaining cleanliness of plant cleaning tools such as floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, utensils such as brooms and shovels, etc.

● Performs other duties as assigned by site management.

Qualifications include:

● Education - High School education or GED preferred.

● Responsible for establishing priorities and working independently without direct supervision.

● Follow safety rules as it relates to Personal protective equipment (PPE)

● Follow all safety and food safety policies and procedures.

Working conditions

● Shift based working hours.

● Indoor working conditions.

● May be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as production equipment.

Physical requirements

● Able to stand and walk throughout the scheduled work shift.

● Able to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
